Please read our Terms & Conditions. Children travelling alone or with one parent need a PARENTAL AUTHORISATION form from the non-travelling parent.

IN ADDITION, ORIGINALS PLUS ONE COPY REQUIRED OF THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:

IF YOU DO NOT COPY YOUR OWN DOCUMENTS WE WILL CHARGE AN EXTRA £5 FOR COPYING.

4. LETTER FROM EMPLOYER/ACCOUNTANT or UNIVERSITY confirming you are employed/self-employed/a student (if student, then letter needs to state attendance is satifactory). Original, not more than 1 month old. If you are a dependant, a letter from your spouse/parent confirming they are supporting you, together with their employer’s letter and their bank statement (see above). If self-employed a letter from your accountant/solicitor. Letters which are not original or which are more than one month old at date of lodging in Embassy will not be accepted. Contracts/offers of employment or place at college will not be accepted instead of a letter. ORIGINAL plus PHOTOCOPY

5. LAST 3 PAYSLIPS (if employed) or ACCOUNTANT'S LETTER TO STATE ANNUAL SALARY (if self-employed). ORIGINAL plus PHOTOCOPY (photocopy payslips on back of Employer's letter)

6. INSURANCE (this must mention that you are covered for medical expenses and repatriation and be valid for the whole of Europe ). The Embassy needs to see a policy document showing your name, dates of cover and these words. Insurance should be valid for the whole length of time you require the visa. If you require a multiple entry visa you need multi-trip insurance. (eg to get a 6-month visa your insurance must be valid for 6-12 months) The cheapest policy we have found which satisfies the Embassy's requirements is at www.insureandgo.com. You may arrange your insurance with any other provider and Mobile Visa Service does not endorse Insure and Go. Although multi-trip insurance is necessary for a multiple entry visa to be issued, providing the documents required (including insurance) is not a guarantee in itself that a multiple entry visa will be issued. ORIGINAL plus PHOTOCOPY

7. An ORIGINAL BANK STATEMENT with £50 per person for each day in France dated less than one month old on the date of lodging in the Embassy. (internet bank statement ok provided it has your name and account number on it). If you do not have a UK bank account you can provide ORIGINAL TRAVELLERS CHEQUES for 60 euros per day (please note that applications with travellers cheques are usually granted just a single entry visa) ORIGINAL plus PHOTOCOPY

8. RETURN TICKET TO FRANCE or CONFIRMATION of your return travel which must state that everything is CONFIRMED and FULLY PAID. Your name must appear on the confirmation. Refundable tickets are not acceptable. E-Tickets are acceptable. ORIGINAL plus PHOTOCOPY. The original may be a fax or internet booking but a photocopy is still also required.

9. CONFIRMATION OF HOTEL Each person’s name who needs the visa must appear on the confirmation or IF STAYING WITH FRIENDS/FAMILY WHO LIVE IN FRANCE THEY MUST SEND YOU AN ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE OF BOARD AND LODGING WHICH THEY OBTAIN FROM THEIR LOCAL TOWN HALL IN FRANCE. (Original only, not copy or fax). Please note that the French Embassy may check on your hotel AFTER you leave to confirm that you stayed there. Please do not apply through the French Embassy if you do not intend to travel to France on the dates shown or stay in the hotel or if France is not your main destination. Doing so represents misuse of the visa and could have severe consequences. Please note that applications with Certificate of Board and Lodging for staying with family/friends usually result in just a single entry visa valid for the exact dates of the invitation.

10. SPOUSES/CHILDREN UNDER 18 / UK DEPENDANT VISAS Spouse and children of an EC national - Schengen visas are issued free of Embassy’s fee on production of ORIGINAL Marriage Certificate (spouse) and ORIGINAL full birth certificate (children) and EC Spouse’s/Parent’s ORIGINAL full and unexpired passport. Persons in the UK on a dependant’s visa must show the passport of the spouse/parent on whom they are dependant plus original birth/marriage certificate even if dependant on a non-EC national and/or over 18. Children under 18 travelling alone or with one parent require the permission of the non-travelling parent(s) plus a copy of that parent(s) passport(s) unless the parent has a document giving them sole custody of the child or certificate of adoption by a step-parent or the child only has only one parent named on the birth certificate or the other parent is deceased (death certificate required). Where the EC parent is not the birth parent of the child the visa fee may be charged by the Embassy. If the original documents are not in English they must be officially translated and the translation stamped by your own Embassy in the UK and attached to the originals.

11. NANNIES OR DOMESTIC WORKERS Nannies/domestic workers in a private household now require a temporary work permit if travelling with their employer. This is a complicated procedure which takes at least 3 months. Nannies & domestic workers travelling for their own holidays (without employer) require the documents listed in 1 - 10 above PLUS Employer's original passport and their original contract of employment.

12. BUSINESS VISAS - a letter from your UK employer (ORIGINAL) confirming they are sending you on business/to a conference, who the business/conference is with, exact nature of the business/conference, the dates and that they are taking financial responsibility for you PLUS AN INVITATION from the HOST ORGANISATION IN FRANCE with the dates they are inviting you and exact details of what you will be doing there (fax acceptable) and above documents.
