The
Schengen agreement was implemented in 1995 to allow border-free travel
within the member states who are parties to the agreement. It has now been expanded
to include all of the following countries:
Austria
Belgium
Czech Republic
Denmark
Estonia
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Hungary
Iceland (apply through Danish Embassy)
Italy
Latvia
Lithuania
Luxembourg
Malta
Netherlands
Norway
Poland
Portugal
Slovenia
Slovakia
Spain
Sweden
Please note that the countries which have recently joined the EU such as Cyprus, Romania and Bulgaria ARE NOT Schengen.
Processing times vary and many Embassies have an appointment system - it can take up to several weeks or longer to obtain an appointment for some Embassies during high season. (Exceptions are France and Portugal which we can process for you in 3 - 4 working days for France and 1 week for Portugal).
Where to apply. Although the visa, once issued, allows you free travel within all the Schengen states you must apply for the visa from the Embassy of the Schengen country which is your main destination. If there is no main destination, eg in the case where equal time will be spent in several Schengen states, then the visa should be applied for from the Embassy of the country which will be your first point of entry to the Schengen countries.
Visa fees, documents required and application forms vary depending on the Embassy to which you must apply. Please check the relevant links on the visa information page of this website for the information on Schengen countries which Mobile Visa Service Ltd processes or the Embassies’ websites for the countries which require personal applications.
Spouse and Children of EC Nationals are granted Schengen visas free of the Embassy’s visa fee (our service charge still applies if we lodge the application for you) on production of the EC spouse’s/parent’s original and unexpired passport, the original marriage certificate or for children the original full birth certificate (showing parents names). If documents are not in English they must be translated and stamped by your Embassy.
Misuse of a Schengen visa (such as obtaining a visa from one Schengen country and then not travelling to that country on it) may result in the applicant being issued only a very short visa the next time around or the applicant could be banned completely in the Schengen computer from obtaining visas from any Schengen country for a period of time.
Liability
Mobile Visa Service Ltd does not accept liability for any false
or misleading information presented by an applicant wishing to obtain a visa
nor for any refusal by any Embassy to grant a visa or action by an Embassy to
ban an applicant. Our usual fee will apply in these circumstances and any information
likely to affect your application should be disclosed to us in advance. Please
read our terms and conditions.
