Minimum processing time: 2 weeks +
(Please allow sufficient time. Visas are processed in order of travel date.)

Please note that the London Consulate accepts applications only from people living south of Birmingham. Please consult the Spanish Consulate's website for information of where to lodge your application if you do not live south of Birmingham. Unfortunately Mobile Visa Service cannot assist you if you live north of Birmingham. The requirements listed on this website only apply to the London Spanish Consulate - other Spanish Consulates may have different requirements.

It is recommended that you do not book tickets or accommodation before the visa is issued.
The following is the Spanish Consulate’s requirements in order to process your visa - to ensure the best chance of success please read it carefully and supply all documents as requested.

Documents required

Please keep a photocopy of all your documents for your own records. The Consulate keeps your employers' letter and bank statement. If you wish your original bank statement to be returned please provide the original and one photocopy. Please clearly mark on the original that you would like it to be returned. Mobile Visa Service will not be liable for the Consulate's decision to retain original bank statements.

A completed and signed Client Contact form, 2 application forms completed and signed and 2 colour passport photos (identical) plus:

1. Full PASSPORT in good condition valid at least 6 months after your return from Spain with one completely blank page to put the visa on. Temporary passports are not accepted by the Spanish Embassy. UK Residency visa valid one month after your return.

2. LETTER FROM YOUR EMPLOYER / COLLEGE (ORIGINAL, TYPED, ON LETTERHEAD, DATED less than one month ago) saying you are currently employed / studying (if supported by a partner/parent/guardian then letter from their employer, plus letter of support from partner/parent/guardian, plus partner/parent/ guardian’s bank statement). If self-employed a letter from your accountant/solicitor. Letters which are not original or which are more than one month old at date of lodging in Embassy will not be accepted. Payslips/contracts/offers of employment or place at college will not be accepted instead of a letter.

3. BANK STATEMENT (ORIGINAL which the bank posts out to you - up to one month old at date of lodging in Embassy). The statement must have your full name and address on it and be a bank statement, not a credit card statement. It cannot be in overdraft. It must be in credit with a minimum required in account of £30 per day of stay in the Schengen states. If you did not have sufficient funds at the date your statement cut off, you may include an internet or other printout showing updated balance (account number and name must appear on it and match the full statement) but in all cases the FULL ORIGINAL BANK STATEMENT is also required.

4. SPOUSES/CHILDREN UNDER 18 / UK DEPENDANT VISAS / NANNIES OR DOMESTIC WORKERS.
Spouse and children of an EC national - Schengen visas are issued free of Embassy’s fee on production of ORIGINAL Marriage Certificate (if you were not married in the UK you will need to take your marriage certificate to your own embassy and get it stamped as authentic before the Spanish Consulate will accept it. The authentication by your embassy must then have an apostille attached to it. This is an international agreement that counties will recognise each others documents. If your own embassy is not able to do the apostille, you need to take your authenticated marriage certificate to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, who will attach an apostille), ORIGINAL full birth certificate (children) and EC Spouse’s/Parent’s ORIGINAL full and unexpired passport.
Persons in the UK on a dependant’s visa must show passport of the spouse/parent on whom they are dependant plus original birth/marriage certificate even if dependant on a non-EC national and/or over 18.
Children under 18 travelling alone or with one parent require the written permission of the non-travelling parent(s) plus a copy of that parent(s) passport(s) unless the parent has a document giving them sole custody of the child or certificate of adoption by a step-parent or the child only has one parent named on the birth certificate. Where the EC parent is not the birth parent of the child the visa fee may be charged by the Embassy.
Nannies/domestic workers in a private household require original passport of their employer plus a letter of support from employer and employer‘s bank statement.

5. BUSINESS VISAS: a letter from your UK employer (ORIGINAL) confirming they are sending you on business/to a conference, who the business/conference is with, exact nature of the business/conference, the dates and that they are taking financial responsibility for you PLUS AN INVITATION from the HOST ORGANISATION IN SPAIN with the dates they are inviting you and exact details of what you will be doing there (fax acceptable).

VISA CHANGES FOR SPAIN

The Spanish Consulate in London has changed the procedure for applying for a Spanish Schengen visa. Applicants may now apply for a visa only one of two ways:
1) By sending a photocopy of their passport & UK visa by post to the Spanish Consulate and requesting an appointment or
2) via an agency (such as ourselves) authorised to lodge at the Consulate. It is no longer possible to go and queue at the Spanish Consulate to obtain a visa
. The Consulate estimates a minimum 2 to 8 week delay to obtain an appointment should you wish to apply yourself, perhaps longer during the busy season.

Should you wish to use our services, please be aware that each agency may only lodge a maximum of 5 passports per week on a Thursday. We must submit a list to the Consulate, together with a photocopy of the passport and UK visa each Monday for an appointment on the Thursday of the following week (ie. 10 days later). Therefore, we need a copy of your passport and documents by the FRIDAY 2 weeks before it is to be lodged. Once the application has been lodged on the Thursday, for most nationalities the visa will be issued 2 working days later, ie. passports will normally be ready the following Monday. Some nationalities may take 2 to 3 weeks, for example Chinese and Phillipino. Please see the Spanish Consulate's website for a full list.

Since the passports we can lodge have been limited to 5 per week (previously we could lodge 5 every day), demand can be very much greater than what we are actually able to lodge. Therefore, we would urge you to think about your travel plans well in advance. However, please only reserve a place if you definitely will have all of the documents (including passport) before the date of your reserved space. It will not be possible to refund you if we have held a space for your passport. All documents are required to be with us by the Tuesday of the week in which the application will be submitted to the Consulate. This allows time for us to check all of the documents and for you to sort out anything that may be missing or incomplete.

To make an advance booking, please post or fax (please call us before faxing) a photocopy of your passport (information page only - the one with your photo, date of birth, etc on it) and UK visa, together with a cheque for the full amount (Service charge £50 to £70 dependant to time of year, visa fees £17.25 single entry, £24.15 multiple entry, EC Spouse/child Free) to Mobile Visa Service Ltd. with the advance booking slip at the end of this page. Please include a contact telephone number. Places may be reserved on a first come, first served basis. Where demand is greater than places available for a particular week, they will be allocated according to travel date. Please do not book a place on a list unless you definitely intend to travel and are absolutely sure you can collect all of your documents by the required date. It may not be possible to refund you or transfer you to another date if all places are full.

PHILIPPINO, COLUMBIAN, INDONESIAN and other “referred” nationalities
Please see the Spanish Consulate's website for a full list of nationalities which are "referred"
and which will therefore take longer to process.

The Spanish Consulate has made some changes for the above passport holders. We can lodge the initial application but the applicant must come in person when there visa has been authorised collect their visa. There will also be a delay of minimum 2 - 3 weeks starting from the time we lodge the application in the Consulate as the application will be referred to the authorities in Spain and the decision will not be made by the London Consulate. Applicants are requested NOT to book tickets. When you are notified that you visa has been approved then you must appear at the Consulate in person with the tickets. All other documents remain the same.
